Mathoor Hanging Bridge
The Mathoor Hanging Bridge, also known as the Mathur Aqueduct, is an impressive engineering marvel located in the Thiruvattar taluk of Kanyakumari district, Tamil Nadu. Built in 1966, it is the tallest and longest trough bridge in Asia
Height: 115 feet (35 meters), Length: 1 kilometer (0.62 miles), Constructed as a drought relief measure, it transports water for irrigation from one hill to another. The bridge is supported by 28 huge pillars and has a trough that is 7 feet tall and 7.5 feet wide. The bridge has become a popular tourist spot, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and rivers.
